HISTORY
HOME The Northwest Wingless Tour sprint car series has had a short history, forming during the fall of 2008 with its first official show being run on April 25, 2009, won by Kyler Barraza, at Cottage Grove Speedway and immediately becoming the top non-wing sprint car tour in the Pacific Northwest. Kyle Miller won one race on his way to the title that season. In 2010, Theo McCarty did not win any main events but used consistency throughout the season to win the NWWT championship.

The following race tracks have each hosted completed Northwest Wingless Tour sprint car series events.

Coos Bay Speedway - Coos Bay, OR (2 races)
Cottage Grove Speedway - Cottage Grove, OR (10 races)
Grays Harbor Raceway - Elma, WA (6 races)
Southern Oregon Speedway - White City, OR (1 race)
Sunset Speedway Park - Banks, OR (5 races)
Willamette Speedway - Lebanon, OR (3 races)

Coos Bay Speedway in Coos Bay, OR and Skagit Speedway in Alger, WA both expect to host their first Northwest Wingless Tour events in the 2011 season. Skagit Speedway's event will be its first non-wing sprint car event since 2006 and believed to be just its 12th in the modern era of sprint car racing. Southern Oregon Speedway had hosted non-wing sprint cars only once ever before the NWWT visited, while Grays Harbor Raceway was graced by the wingless wonders for the first time ever when the NWWT visited in 2009.

Through the 2010 season, a total of 69 different drivers, most from Washington and Oregon, have competed in at least one Northwest Wingless Tour sprint car series event. NWWT events have even seen drivers from California, Oklahoma and Texas on hand, including 2010 main event winner Travis Rilat. Many local winged sprint car drivers at tracks such at Cottage Grove Speedway, Grays Harbor Raceway and Southern Oregon Speedway have removed their wings to try their hand at "traditional" sprint car racing whenever the Northwest Wingless Tour has come to town as well.
